Meet Rich and Kirstine Briggs – Local Business Owners Supporting the Community

Meet Rich and Kirstine Briggs, local business owners who have called Horizon West home for nearly two decades!

“We were among the first residents in Horizon West,” said Rich. “This was THE up-and-coming area, and we knew it would be a great place to raise a family.”

In their Summerport home, the Briggs raised their two boys, watching as the community grew around them. Over the years, they’ve become fixtures in the community, supporting local businesses, serving  and fostering connections with their neighbors. “For us, Horizon West is more than just a place to live,” Kirstine explained. “It’s a safe and friendly community where supporting local businesses is just a part of everyday life.”

Fast forward a few years, and in 2018, Rich and Kirstine embarked on a new chapter of their professional lives. Already owning and managing two successful businesses in the area, the couple acquired Big Bob’s Flooring Outlet. The store opened in 2019, and shortly after, the world was in a global pandemic. Despite the challenges of being shut down for three months, the pair emerged stronger than ever, fueled by a surge in demand as homeowners sought to enhance their living spaces. From “famine to feast,” the business owners weathered the storm with resilience and determination, a testament to their team’s unwavering commitment to excellence.

The Briggs’ commitment to quality extends beyond business transactions to active engagement in community initiatives, from hosting book drives for teachers and blood donation events to serving as a Toys for Tots drop-off center and actively participating in the West Orange Chamber. Additionally, Rich serves as the lacrosse coach at Windermere High, while Kirstine lends her talents as the sports photographer and serves as the president of the Athletic Booster Club.

As they approach their five-year milestone, Rich and Kirstine are preparing to celebrate with the community on June 22!

The festivities, including Kona ice, grilled hotdogs, and exciting giveaways, reflect their gratitude to the community that has embraced them wholeheartedly. Now rooted firmly in their beloved Horizon West, Rich and Kirstine find themselves energized by the journey behind and the road ahead. They inspire others with their dedication to service and their unwavering support for local endeavors.
