Set in the glittering, cutthroat world of Chicago during the Roaring Twenties, Chicago follows Roxie Hart, an ambitious chorus girl who will do anything for fame. After murdering her unfaithful lover, Roxie manipulates her mild-mannered husband, Amos, into taking the fall—until the truth unravels and she finds herself on death row alongside the infamous Velma Kelly.
But in a city where crime makes celebrities and justice is just another performance, Roxie and Velma battle for the spotlight in a sensationalized media circus—before realizing their greatest power lies in joining forces.
Horizon High’s electrifying production transforms the story into a high-octane theatrical vaudevillian event, featuring campy, precision-driven Bob Fosse-inspired choreography, jaw-dropping aerial moments that quite literally elevate the pursuit of fame, and bold special effects that blur the line between illusion and reality.
