Get ready, get set for the 2nd annual French Family Foundation 5K Fun Run! Hosted in Hamlin, this event brings together families, local residents, and businesses to celebrate the spirit of community and inclusivity. The 5K is designed to be a fun and accessible event for all ages

and abilities. From serious runners to parents walking with young kids or pushing strollers, this event encourages everyone to advocate for people living with disabilities and their families.

Funds raised during this event go directly towards supporting families with children who have disabilities. The French Family Foundation provides funding for educational services, therapy programs, specialized equipment, and grants for families hoping to adopt children with special needs. Event Details

The French Family Foundation 5k & Fun Run will take place on Saturday, November 16 at 8:00AM, with packet pickup and registration opening at 7AM. A virtual option is also available for anyone unable to participate in person! The race will start at Home State Brewing Co. (16016 New Independence Pkwy Winter Garden, FL). This is a fun run/walk for all abilities and will not be chip-timed. However, there will be a clock visible at the finish line. All participants will receive a shirt and medal. The cost for Adult participants is $35, 14 and under are $30 and a special discount code is available for Super Stars (persons with a disability). Participants may register right up until the day of the event. 

Sponsorship Opportunities

With over 250 runners and their families expected at this event, it’s an excellent opportunity for businesses to gain brand exposure while supporting a great cause. The French Family Foundation is a 501(c)(3) charity, so all donations are tax-deductible. Four sponsorship levels are available, ranging from $100 to $5,000. About the French Family

The French Family Foundation exists to provide support and assistance to persons with disabilities, their families, and those seeking adoption of children with disabilities. Inspired by the personal experiences of founders Jason and Kelly French, the organization focuses on creating an inclusive environment where families feel empowered and supported. The French Family is deeply committed to helping families navigate the adoption process. Many families are willing to adopt children with disabilities, but the high costs can be a barrier. The Foundation’s financial grants help alleviate some of these expenses.

For families already caring for children with disabilities, the Foundation’s grants and financial support cover crucial needs like specialized therapies, equipment, and education. The aim is to remove financial strain, allowing families to focus on what truly matters—creating a loving and supportive environment for their children.

In addition to the 5K happening in November, the French Family Foundation has also embarked on an ambitious capital campaign. Their goal is to raise $100,000 to open a local business that will employ people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. 80% of people with disabilities are unemployed nationwide. The French Family hopes to reverse this statistic.
