Position Summary
The Lead Party Assistant serves as the primary owner of birthday party execution during weekend operations. This role leads birthday party experiences from setup through cleanup while coordinating fellow Play Assistants to ensure every celebration is organized, engaging, and memorable.
In addition to leading birthday parties, this position supports daily museum operations and helps maintain a welcoming, clean, and safe environment for guests.
Essential Responsibilities
Birthday Party Leadership
- Lead and facilitate assigned birthday parties from start to finish.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for party hosts throughout the event.
- Manage party timelines to ensure events remain on schedule.
- Coordinate food service, cake presentation, crafts, games, gifts, and party transitions.
- Direct and support fellow Play Assistants during birthday parties.
- Ensure party rooms are fully prepared before each event.
- Reset party spaces after each celebration.
- Deliver exceptional guest experiences for children and families.
Museum Operations
- Provide outstanding customer service.
- Welcome guests and assist with check-in.
- Answer phone inquiries and assist with retail transactions.
- Support opening and closing procedures.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe museum environment.
- Sanitize toys, play equipment, and common areas.
- Assist with open play operations between birthday parties.
- Follow all safety procedures and company policies.
- Report guest concerns or operational issues to leadership.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Schedule Requirements
This position is primarily a weekend leadership role.
Required Availability:
- Saturdays
- Sundays
Weekend availability is required as the Lead Party Assistant is responsible for leading birthday party operations during peak business hours.
Compensation & Benefits
- Starting pay of $17.00 per hour
- Opportunity for future wage increases based on performance and leadership
- Eligible to participate in birthday party tip distributions in accordance with company policies and applicable wage and hour laws
Qualifications
Preferred:
- Experience working with children
- Experience hosting parties, events, or customer-facing activities
Required:
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to stand for up to 8 hours
- Ability to bend, lift, and carry up to 25 pounds
- Ability to work efficiently and independently
- Ability to successfully pass a background check
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
