Horizon West Set to Ride the Wave with Innovative Ocean Sports Development Project!

In a groundbreaking announcement that promises to bring the spirit of the ocean into the heart of Horizon West, Ocean Sports Development has unveiled plans for a revolutionary 43-acre sports complex. Spearheaded by key figures including Gregory Lee, Lead Corporate & Strategic Counsel; Anthony Brown, Chairman; and Nicole Wilson, Commissioner, the project aims to debut in 2025, marking a significant milestone in outdoor recreational and sports facilities.

The sprawling complex, covering 90,000 square feet and operating from 8 AM to 10 PM, is designed to cater to both enthusiasts and professionals of ocean sports. Among its key attractions will be a cutting-edge wave technology, capable of emulating real ocean waves for surfing. This technology not only positions the site as a premier destination for surfers but also underscores Ocean Sports Development’s commitment to innovation.

In addition to wave surfing, the facility will boast a volleyball court, expansive green spaces for picnics, a variety of restaurants, and ample retail space. This holistic approach aims to provide a diverse range of activities and amenities to visitors. Beyond recreation, the project stands as a pillar for community growth and environmental stewardship. It promises to generate employment, offer educational opportunities, and facilitate training programs for first responders. Special initiatives will target veterans and underprivileged groups, alongside programs focused on environmental science.

With four other projects in development, the facility’s unique offering has stirred considerable excitement among the North American audience. It introduces a novel three-phase wave system catering to beginners through to professional surfers, complemented by an inviting price point for access. The development is expected to create 250-300 construction jobs, alongside 180 operational roles upon completion. Its commitment to community engagement is further highlighted through plans for festivals, local vendor participation, and no intrusive stadium lighting, ensuring a harmonious integration with the local environment.

Addressing potential concerns, the development team has acknowledged traffic and noise considerations, committing to adherence with local ordinances and exploring solutions for traffic mitigation.

As Ocean Sports Development embarks on this ambitious project, the team encourages public engagement and input, reflecting a commitment to transparency and community collaboration. With Horizon West’s reputation as a tourism hotspot, the project is poised to enrich the area’s offering, promising waves of excitement for locals and visitors alike.
