There are event venues, and then there are places where the person behind the venue has spent an entire lifetime learning how to bring people together.
The Venue is the newest chapter in the story of owner and master chef Uday Kadam, whose hospitality career has taken him from India to international hotels, Disney, Central Florida restaurants and now a full-service event venue.
From India to a Life in Hospitality
Uday was born in a small farming village south of Mumbai, India. A scholarship eventually gave him the opportunity to attend boarding school, and after high school he moved to Bombay, now Mumbai, for college.
While attending school, he took a job at the legendary Taj Mahal Hotel, where what started as restaurant work grew into formal hospitality and management training. From there, his career went international. Uday worked in Kuwait, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, the United Kingdom and the United States, including roles with Marriott International. Eventually, another opportunity brought him to Florida.
Disney Became Part of the Story
One of Uday’s Marriott mentors accepted a position at Disney’s Polynesian Resort and encouraged him to make the move to Central Florida.
Uday has said his time with Disney reinforced two lessons that stayed with him: storytelling and exceptional customer service.
Those ideas would later shape the businesses he built himself.
Decades in the Central Florida Restaurant World
Uday’s restaurant history in Central Florida goes back decades.
Food critic Scott Joseph recalls reviewing Uday’s former Orlando restaurant, Passage to India, as far back as 1990.
Then, in 2014, Uday and his wife, Pam, opened Guru Indian Restaurant in Clermont.
Guru became known for authentic Northern Indian cuisine and warm hospitality, eventually earning a loyal local following and recognition from Tripadvisor among the top 10% of restaurants worldwide.
For more than a decade, Uday wasn’t just serving the community.
He was becoming part of it.
Then Came The Venue
In 2026, Uday and Pam launched The Venue at 2400 South U.S. Highway 27.
The concept takes everything Uday has learned through decades of restaurants, catering, hotels and hospitality and brings it into one flexible event space.
Instead of simply serving the food, his team can now help create the entire celebration.
What Is The Venue?
The Venue is a full-service event space designed for approximately 150 guests.
The indoor space features:

- Chandelier lighting
- Natural light
- Flexible seating
- Space for ceremonies, dancing and entertainment
There is also outdoor space for cocktails, photos and additional gathering areas, plus complimentary on-site parking.

The Food Is a Big Part of What Makes It Different
This is where Uday’s background really shows.
The Venue has a full-service kitchen, an impressive team of professional chefs, and customizable catering menus that can include Indian, Italian, Mediterranean, Mexican, Caribbean, Asian, Latin and American cuisine.
That means hosts can build a menu around the event instead of being locked into one style of food.
And because catering is handled in-house, the team can manage food service, setup and cleanup as part of the experience.
You Can Visit Even Without an Event
The Venue is also becoming a gathering place outside of private celebrations.
It hosts Sunday Brunch from 11 AM to 3 PM, with selections like made-to-order omelets, prime rib, salmon, salads, bakery items and desserts.
The property has also hosted expos and community events featuring local florists, photographers, entertainers, bakers and other event professionals.
Uday’s Story Has Come Full Circle
In 2026, Uday released his autobiography, Lone Lion: An Independent Entrepreneur’s Tale of Adventure and Adversity.
The book follows his journey from rural India through international hospitality and entrepreneurship in the United States.
And in many ways, The Venue feels like the culmination of that journey.
A boy from a small farming village eventually worked inside some of the world’s best-known hospitality companies, built restaurants in Central Florida, created a beloved local business and opened a place designed specifically for other people to celebrate their biggest moments.
