And as it turns out, Horizon West residents don’t have to travel far to find that kind of holiday charm.

In fact, one of our neighboring communities just received a pretty impressive Christmas honor! Historic Downtown Winter Garden has officially been recognized by Hallmark Channel as one of the nation’s 25 Official Hallmark Christmas Towns.

With that exciting news kicking off the season, we’re rounding up six charming Central Florida towns worth visiting this Christmas.

1. Historic Downtown Winter Garden: An Official Hallmark Christmas Town

Distance from Horizon West: Approximately 15–25 minutes

Winter Garden has always known how to celebrate Christmas, but this year, the rest of the country is taking notice!

On October 21, 2026, the City of Winter Garden announced that Hallmark Channel had officially recognized the community as one of just 25 Official Hallmark Christmas Towns nationwide.

Although Winter Garden wasn’t selected as the grand-prize winner of Hallmark’s Merriest Christmas Towns contest, the designation is an impressive honor, and one the city can proudly display for the next two years.

A special Hallmark Christmas Town photo station is even coming to Centennial Plaza for visitors to commemorate the occasion.

Of course, anyone who has spent a December evening along Plant Street knows exactly why Winter Garden made the list.

Historic buildings, locally owned boutiques, decorated storefronts, illuminated trees, and glowing arches along the West Orange Trail transform downtown into a holiday destination.
